The Dream

One day in 2013, I watched a documentary about a French winery and I had this special feeling... That winemaker was enthusiastic about his culture, his love for his vines, wines, the region, the soil and the country with the beautiful green grapevines in the landscape. On that day I knew, one day I want to live in the south of France to be part of this winemaking culture.

I studied wine economics, worked at different wineries in Germany and moved to the south of France to dive into that world I was dreaming of.

2021 I began working as a cellar hand for Aymeric Paillard in Tournon-sur-Rhône. I wanted to understand the terroir of the beautiful wines of the Côtes du Rhône.

Aymeric´s philosophy about viticulture, winemaking, and his dedication to the vineyards are outstanding and fascinating. I am obliged to work with him.

At the harvest 2021, Aymeric and I were joking. It was in the vineyards of Sarras and I still remember that moment. This one joke was special! Why? Because, after that joke, the vision arose to make my first vintage from Syrah grapes in the AOC St. Joseph!

First, it was a dream, then a joke, a joke became a conversation, and a conversation became a vision.

In 2022 I bought two 10 years old 228l barriques from Vincent Paris who is one of the great winemakers of Cornas.

For my first vintage, Aymeric offered me to host my barriques in his cellar.

Following, I elaborated the theory and "Project Vin de Terroir" was born.
